TORONTO HOCKEY HALL OF FAME, SHOPPING, KENSINGTON MARKET, ANTLER DAY 3

We started our day walking in the rain to Starving Artist for breakfast. It’s a 3 minute walk, and we had an umbrella. We had good luck here Friday, so decided to come back. I tried the potato waffle this time, thinking it would be similar to the potato donuts from The Holy Donut in Maine. Nope. It’s literally mashed potatoes cooked in a waffle iron. Maybe I would like it better if it was cooked more on the inside, but when I cut it, the inside was soft, salty, and mushy. Outside was cooked perfect!

Second day of rain here…UGH….Oh well, its not going to ruin our trip, after all, it’s just rain…wah…

We ordered a car to take us to the Hockey Hall of Fame , which was a 12 minute ride. Tickets were $19 each and we were in and out 45 minutes. Pretty cool stuff if you’re into hockey!

They had some interactive goal shooting and goal tending, great for kids-and I suppose adults lol

Stanley Cup display!

We had an 8 minute walk over to Goose Island, which is also connected to Biermarkt.

We tried Redacted, Nutmutter (what Eddie ordered), Allora (easier to drink, but sour), Thunder Gun (not quite my tastebuds), Turf War (easiest to drink, but very hoppy to me).

This poor lady was probably getting annoyed with me, but I was determined to find something here to drink. She was so nice about trying to help me find something I’d like to drink. Then she recommended and brought over a few beers from the Bietmarkt to try, which I ended up ordering what she said she thinks I’d like best. Pineapple Ninja Wheat Ale was the winner!

Food came! Oysters were good, and Eddie said the wings aren’t so shabby!

Off to shopping on Bloor Street to Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and Hermes. Exchange rate is good for us, and it’s like getting it tax free at home.

It is Pride weekend here, and the parade was just down the street so we went to see what we can see. Being 5’1″ I can’t see much.

Now that we killed a few hours, off to Kensington Market! 12 ish minute ride here. I can see this place being packed on a non-rainy day. Not that I’ complaining, BUT it smells like pot….everywhere! This is a total hippy area!

We stopped off at Pancho Y Emilano for a few Modelo

This store looks cute, but the pot smell came from the whole neighborhood lol

Dolce Gelato was also a stop for us. Chocolate & pistachio…more please!

Some fun art!

Kensington Brewing makes their beer in house as well, so since we’re here, we stopped in for a Nasch Vienna Lager…cuz I like lagers now lol

Next door is a place called Trinity Common that looked happenin so we gave it a go. All these places are so welcoming and waves us in. We cannot be impolite, we should go in lol

We both ordered the Trinity House Lager

Walking back towards dinner reservations, we made a pit stop at Maniac Coffee

Again, we didn’t get far till Sicilian Sidewalk grabbed our attention for gelato and homemade made as you order canoli

Finally, we made it to Antler Kitchen & Bar. Walk from Kensington Market was about 30 ish minutes. Every Saturday they have animal rights protestors picketing outside..like why? Try it and you may like it! Apparently, they hunt their own food, and serve it. We heard about this place from Joe Rogan’s podcast, so when in Toronto we may as well try it! This was so far out of my comfort zone, and I’m so glad I tried it!

Apparently, I like duck liver parfait. This bread basket was $4, and they added the duck liver parfait for $3. I definitely would not have ordered it for an extra $3, but I tried a little and liked it. But didn’t like it enough to have more than the small amount I tried. I just chalked it up that I spent $3 to try, but most likely won’t do again, didn’t feel like I should have complained to have them take it off.

I ordered Charcoal Grilled Chicken Yakatori, which was phenomenal. I wish I had ordered more! I also ordered the salad, which I forgot the name….Eddie, ofcourse ordered a bison ribeye. I have to say, trying for the 1st time, was delish!

As much as I wanted to try the Smoked Chocolate Mousse, I honestly am upset I couldn’t do it. Legit disappointed..We walked back about 15 minutes to our place. While I was happy we walked back, I am still uncomfortably stuffed like a pig roast.

Ready to call it a night folks….Leaving tomorrow!
