PORTLAND, MAINE GURLS TRIP DAY 1

Our 2nd annual gurls trip is here, and we are in Portland, Maine! What’s in Portland you ask? No clue, other than lobster and breweries! We decided to go east coast and wanted to go where none of us have been, so Maine it is! Kayleen and I belong to a group called Marco Polo where they sell Made in the USA small business stuff like Rough & Tumble Bags and Sugar Angelrox Clothing, which just so happens to be in Maine! So we decided to build our trip around all of these and see where Portland takes us! Kayleen was so gracious to plan our entire weekend, high five to her!!

We flew just over 2 hours from O’Hare to Portland on a teeny tiny 2×2 13 row toy plane-row 4 didn’t seem like we were in the front of the plane…

Portland airport is pretty easy to maneuver around and found the car rental fairly quick, doesn’t seem like a large airport!

Our first stop was at a cute little place called East Ender, where they have locally sourced ingredients. We were hungry, but not that hungry so we decided to share their seasonal salad which was an asian slaw with soy ginger dressing.

Sorry for the half eaten salad picture, but I forgot to take it before we tore it apart.

Next stop was Rough & Tumble where we came to admire all the handmade bags, and ofcourse pick up a few things!

Coffee was in the stars alignment, so we found our way to Arabica Coffee shop where they served my nitro cold brew on ice (((face palm))).

Sugar Angelrox was part of the reason we came to Maine, so we went to the Biddeford location to play dress up. It’s a family owner business that their clothing is made from bamboo, and is incredibly comfortable and very well made.

After spending a few dollars, we worked up an appetite and dinner was at Boones Fish & Oyster.

Well since we’re in Maine, it was only appropriate to each order lobster. We opted for the smallest ones at 1.25 lbs

This is how much meat came out of this guy

Overall, the lobster was good and we were not overstuffed so off to dessert we go!

We stumbled across this cute little ice cream shop called Beals Ice Cream, where I got half chocolate and half peanut butter cookie crunch..oohh maaa gawd..

this was a single split scoop..perfect ending to the evening…
