TORONTO NIAGARA FALLS DAY 1

Ok so last night as we were going thru Canada customs, the agent asked us what we were doing and why we were coming here. We told her only thing planned was Niagara Falls, so I asked her if she had any suggestions. She said, “Nope, I live here so nothing is exciting to me.” Oh….lol? Then she said to go to Tim Horton’s and get an iced capp. Sure, I love coffee! Well, we are on our way to Niagara Falls, and I have to tinkle so we stop off at Tim Hortons. Eddie and I order a medium to share…..Let me tell you, this vanilla iced capp…BOMB. Delish. Dammit. I googled the Starbucks version of this, and I think we’re going to try a blended vanilla frappicino with sweet cream and see how similar that is…I’m not sure what kind of addictive crack is in this beverage, but this is NOT going to be the last iced capp we get here. Thank you customs lady! Best suggestion ever!

When we arrive, we went to Skylon where we can take an outside elevator to the top and get a panoramic view of the Falls. $14 cad each plus tax.

We walked across the street to ground level to get a closer up view of the water.

Oh lookie here….a Tim Hortons…I guess I’ll have to try the Salted Caramel iced capp, and Eddie got the Mocha iced capp. While both were good, I think Vanilla was the best. We’re going to have to try it again before I can say for sure lol.

We drove to Niagara Brewing Company, where it was in an area that reminded us of Wisconsin Dells

After finishing our 10lb beer, we headed over to Niagara on the Lake, which is about 30 min north of the Falls.

First stop was at Exchange Brewery, where we had Berliner Weisse with Pear and Vanilla bean, and Amber ale. All their beers are made here in house. Beeliner was super sour and tart in the beginning for my liking, but ending taste was fine. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get past the excessive sourness, but Eddie liked it. The Amber Ale was more in my taste buds.

Gelato..FINALLLLYYYYY…..This cute little place called Nina Gelateria had some creamy chocolate gelato we shared, only because I wanted to try the pistachio french macaroon, and the mini smores tart. Apparently, everything is all natural here! While they both were good, I could’ve saved the calories and sugar and gotten my own gelato. They just looked super edible!

Next stop was Epicurean for beer. Another cute little place where we sat at the bar and I ordered Tap’s Red Cream Ale, and Eddie ordered Niagara’s Best Lager. Both were really easy to drink.

Now for the forever drive back to our airbnb..Apparently traffic going to Toronto is ridiculous. We had to cancel our 630pm dinner reservations to Jacobs & Co. since the 1hr 15min drive turned into 2.5 hours…

So we had Pizzaville on the corner for dinner. It was just OK, not picture worthy and we turned in for the night…
