BANGKOK/PHUKET/DUBAI

This is our first trip on a plane for this long of a flight. Our first leg, Chicago to Dubai is 13 hours 25 minutes, with a 3 hour 20 minute layover in Dubai, then we head out to Bangkok for 6 more hours. On paper we are traveling for 2 days, but with the time change, not really….We left Chicago Thursday night, and arrive in Bangkok Saturday morning…ahhhhhhh…..

We got to the airport super early, so decided to stop off at Hub 51 in the international terminal at O’hare to have a burger and sip a few….coming off a super busy stressful week, and finishing packing the day we leave, NOW im finally in vacation mode..

We flew Emirates, which is a VERY comfortable airline to fly. On the way to Dubai we were on a 777. Because it was a light flight, we switched our seats from 2 twins in the back to a whole row to ourselves towards the middle of the plane. The nice ticket agent suggested we move to a row of 4 seats in the middle so we have more room to spread out vs only 2 seats-great suggestion since I ended up spreading all our stuff out, including my sleeping beauty.

The dinner that was served was chicken with mashed potatoes, veggies, chocolate mouse brownie delish whatever was oh sooo good. Oh, and keep the red wine coming!!! They definitely make sure you’re not hungry on this flight-I felt like we kept getting served food…Pizza for a snack, which my least favorite that was served, more wine, and Spinach frittata with veggies for breakfast, oh and more wine.

We had a layover in Dubai for 3 hours and 20 minutes where we had plenty of time to explore and roam around. It actually went very quick as we sat down and Eddie ordered a beautiful chocolate shake while I just sipped on sparkling water…

I did come across a bathroom that had a bidet faucet and showers…I love seeing new things like this, as we don’t have these simple things in the States….

We boarded the double-decker A380 plane, where we were seated on the second floor…how cool is that?? We had an entire 4 seat row to ourselves again, thanks to the ticket agent that suggested it vs. our original 2 window twin seats. We were able to spread out and lay very comfortable. Had the flight been packed, we definitely would have kept our original seats.

This flight from Dubai to Bangkok was just as comfortable, and we got fed just as much…oh red wine?? Sure, just please don’t twist my arm! We were served chicken with potatoes and veggies for dinner, and more red wine. While it was good airplane food, the food on the way to Dubai was much better.
