VEGAS BABY!! DAY 1

I normally don’t get too excited to go to Vegas, but this time I was because this is Kristefer and mine 1st annual girls trip (because mother and son trip just sounds lame lol). I let him choose where, and was honestly surprised he wanted to go to Vegas…with me…and not his friends!

Bye Chicago! We’re off to Vegas!!!

We get into our Uber, and 1st person we interact with assumed we were “together” lol…He told Kris how lucky he is his mother is taking him to Vegas..

The Uber costs $16 to the Flamingo, and we got there in about 10 minutes. It was about 11am when we went to check in, surprisingly the line was fairly short and took about 30 minutes in line. I assumed our room wasn’t available yet, so the plan was to leave our bags and walk the strip. The lady offered us a newer renovated room for $20 plus taxes per night and we can check in now, or wait till 4pm. We decided to check in now. Then she shows me $120 resort fee that will be billed as well…damn resort fees…doesn’t even give us access to the pool party Saturday and there is an $11-20 cover fee. Ok whatever, but I was hoping she would throw that in, oh well. We settle into our room, change and walk over to Reef Dispensaries.

It was about a 30 minute .8 mile walk, and the strip was fairly quiet. We get to the dispensary and there is a line outside about 20 minute wait and 10 people long. We get inside and there is another line about 20 people long before it is our turn. It is almost set up like the way Apple stores are. Long tables with product on it, and budtenders taking your order.

It’s cash only and you can only buy a certain amount, which was fine cuz we weren’t stocking up for the weekend. We spent $176 and started walking back to the strip.

We had our 1st beer in Vegas

We walked thru the Fashion Mall, Wynn, Palazzo, Venetian, and Caesars. Had a few drinks here and there too!

Sin City had a good beer that was easy to drink, Weihenstephaner. Whew, hope I spelled that one right!

Caesars was a really good visit, because the Gucci store had everything I needed: slides, purse, and belt bag, and he also sold me on perfume. I asked my new SA friend Danny if he can ship it to Kristefer in Wisconsin so I can save the sales tax. He said of course, so now I really feel like I won! There is no Gucci store in Wisconsin, so no sales tax!! Only bummer is I spent $2100 and walked away with just a receipt, but that didn’t stop my excitement! Danny and I exchanged contact information and he will text me with delivery updates. For some reason, they can’t provide me with tracking number, but will send me updates. Well, I now have a Gucci sales associate, so I can text him for stuff now instead of buying online! I seriously still can’t believe they had everything I wanted!! BUT, I got 4 items for $2100 instead of one or two purses!! It’s not like any was on sale, but I really feel like I scored!

Off for another celebratory drink and a stop at Montecristo Cigar Bar and head back to get ready for dinner!

Dinner was at STK at the Cosmopolitan. I love how chic this hotel is!

Eddie and I went to the STK in Chicago since I heard about how fabulous Vegas was, unfortunately we weren’t too impressed so didn’t go back. Our reservations was at 8pm, and we got there at 740pm and was planning to sit at the bar, but they sat us right away. Kristefer ordered the ribeye, I got half dozen oysters, tater tots to share, and a beer each.

Ok so the ribeye was very flavorful (no Steak 48, but really good), the oysters were delish, but the tater tots were more like fried mashed potato balls. Dinner with tip was $163, we both walked away happy! He headed over to the Chandelier bar for a beverage, and Kris left to hit a table, came back with a smile so we left to Fremont!

It was a $25 cab ride there, we split a 32oz beer and walked thru. Shoulder to shoulder people, street performers, zip liners…took a $26 cab ride back to our hotel and Kris hit the tables again and I got lost going to the room. But, I stopped off at some candy store and ate half the bag looking for the room so it didn’t seem that bad, atleast I was occupied being lost and drunk…

I wasn’t the only winner today, Kris played a bunch of quick blackjack games throughout the day and finished with an extra $380 in his pocket! Oh, and 25,601 steps lol!
